Love, Pain, and Lemonade

Two young women embark on a journey to Eritrea to learn and document human connection in a different context.  With the backdrop of Eritrea, Helen and Kara get a better understanding of what freedom and privilege mean for them as Americans. In this raw portrayal, in which there is no distance between the filmmakers and their subject matter, the women encounter a charade of characters who help them on their way and enhance their journey of self-discovery. Kara is out to find a guitar, but Helen seems to be on a greater search for answers. With a very hands-  on approach and unique take on storytelling, where we get to see both characters through the camera lens of their counterpart, Helen and Kara take us on a very personal journey that has many angles.
